So I figured since we have a beautiful new theme made by our wonderful Sailor Uranus, I think it's time we make a thread for any comments, questions, or problems anyone has about/with it!

Enjoy the surprise for the first day of summer everyone? My thoughts behind the summer theme was the summer nightlife since it's warmer out and more concerts are happening.

I just have one comment for now (might add more later, depending on what other users say).

A couple nights ago, I noticed the list of top-level sections of this forum included a choice to access your Portal ("Home Portal Calendar FAQ Search" etc.).  But now that I want to look at your Portal, I see it's not available there ("Home Calendar FAQ Search" etc.).  I can't be sure Portal disappeared when MKF switched to the new format/theme, but it's awful suspicious to me....

The Portal was link was added late to that scheme. I forgot to tell Uarnus to add that link when she upgraded those links into nice big header section. So it's missing on this new scheme. You can access the portal still under the Navigation widget. Uranus just needs to add the portal link back up top for this scheme.

BTW I love this theme so much.  

I thought I put the Portal button back up top. Oh, well it's there now.

Yeah, I've been trying to fix that. It could also be a default of forumotion as well.

that's actually cause of the text color and the way that forumotion codes stuff. I'm sure that Uranus can play around an figure something out or I can later if she doesnt have time.

I've done some color adjustments to the forum. The buttons are easier to read now (in my opinion). Would still like to hear any feedbacks to improve the forum if need be.

Well, the buttons may now be perfect, but I've noticed one other thing that now needs fixing.  Sometimes in this forum, I've come across a post where someone has used a dark font color to highlight part of their message.  On the former white background, this was a good idea, because it showed up well.  But now with the current color scheme, this dark-color text is difficult to read.  So my suggestion is to change the background color of just the area where the message is to a lighter blue, to re-achieve this ease of reading dark font colors.

An example of what I'm talking about : see Rule # 1 in the Rules for the Play Room section of the first message on https://moonkingdomforums.forumotion.com/t38-rules-and-information-for-the-play-room-major-update-3-27-14 .

I fix that that color issue for rule number one. It is now standard font color. That probably came from error formation wise. There was size issue too.

Yeah, that fixes that one case.  But what about all the other cases of dark font color that I'm pretty sure I've seen here?  Don't make me go again through all of the threads I've read here just to find all the examples that were done in the past    .

As I said in my last post here, it was tempting to choose a dark font color for part of one's message under the old format, because it would show up well against the white background that existed at the time.  So an unintended side-effect of switching to such a dark background color was to make all these cases extremely difficult to read.  Can't someone on MKF staff just change the background color of only the areas where each message is printed to a lighter shade of blue?  Because it would solve all of these cases of text that is currently difficult to read.

Furthermore, in looking through the current box where one enters one's message/reply, I notice that there is still a font color button there (in between the font size button and the font name button).  So a new example of this could be made at any time.

I didn't get alerted for this thread a few weeks back apparently. Mainly the issue where the new theme's color scheme clashes with those posts with dark colors if if the author of those posts modified the text coloring. Which are out of my control unless another admin or I go in and edit it ourselves.

On the forum's theme testing site I take into account legibility about new posts and not old posts since I don't go through every post to see what someone has done in the past. The reason why I changed to a darker background for the quotes is because the white was very bright and clashing with the other colors in the thread.

So I just wanted to put my two cents in. The form colours at times can be very difficult to see the posts at times. Some parts are too bright. I would suggest deepening the blue to two different shades of Navy blue. Maybe get a dark textured background where you currently have the navy blue to differentiate.
