| I am currently reading The Street of A Thousand Blossoms by Gail Tsukiyama. This story has been sad, but the setting (WW2) contributes to the emotional feel of the story. This is a story of 2 brothers living with their grandparents during WW2, their parents died prior to the war. The oldest Hiroshi had dreams of becoming a sumo master and the little brother Kenji shows an interest in mask making. I hope I am not giving too much away, while this story is a sad one, I am enjoying reading it. It is fiction, but makes me think of the suffering the Japanese endured during the war. I am hoping for a happy ending. |

| I finished the first part of the book, its still sad, I am not sure how much longer Japan is in the war, but I think it may take a turn in the 2nd part. |

Those are all good books! Part 1 is more sad but its a long book. I just take it slower. It is about WW2 so there are sad aspects to it, but I think in Part 2 things are gonna start to improve. |

| bumping from update- the book is getting a bit happier. The main character is pursuing his dream but facing the struggles with becoming a sumotori. I wish I had more to update, but this past week was so busy with lots of college events. |
